(LAS VEGAS) April 5, 2004 – Providing its exhibitors with a comprehensive overview and update of construction of Phase One, officials with World Market Center Las Vegas will host a Tenant Construction Symposium on May 5 at The Venetian Hotel & Casino.
“This event is one of the most meaningful experiences we can offer to our exhibitors at this point in time”
The symposium comes on the heels of releasing the official World Market Center tenant handbook, which was sent to all 230 Phase One exhibitors. The book outlines the project’s first phase in great detail, including general design criteria, tenant improvement guidelines, and other aspects of the 1.3 million square-foot trade facility for the home and hospitality contract furnishings industry under construction in downtown Las Vegas.
The symposium, coupled with the tenant handbook, is a significant milestone for the Las Vegas Market as it provides exhibitors with critical information about construction timelines and the build-out of their individual showrooms.
“This event is one of the most meaningful experiences we can offer to our exhibitors at this point in time,” said Dave Palmer, General Manager of World Market Center. “We are very proud to have these companies as tenants, and have had their support very early on. They are eager to take the next step and do their part in creating a world class Market in Las Vegas.”
At the symposium, Phase One exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet with the projects’ developers, architects, and general contractor as well as other key members of the design/build team. Palmer says the meeting enables exhibitors to get the resources they need to be fully equipped to complete their showroom.
Palmer expects about 250 tenant-representatives to attend the symposium, which will culminate with a tour of the construction site, where foundation work is almost complete. A private reception featuring entertainment and international cuisine from around the world – themed after the global strategies of World Market Center – will precede the symposium on May 4 for tenants, spouses and other invited guests.
The upcoming construction symposium, tenant handbook, and a new live webcam that monitors construction progress on-line are components of an ongoing effort by World Market Center to continue to keep exhibitors and the home furnishings industry up-to-date on the project.
Opening in July 2005, World Market Center is an integrated home and hospitality contract furnishings showroom and convention center complex being developed in Las Vegas. Phase One will span 1.3 million square feet and showcase furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, area rugs, and related segments, as well as a Design Center open year-round to the trade. Leasing applications are being taken now for Phase Two. For information, contact Babs Blair or Russell Blair at 888-416-8600..
