(Las Vegas) – Wednesday, July 26, 2006 – Excellence and innovation abound at Las Vegas Market, taking place July 24-28, 2006.
This summer, nearly 500 companies are exhibiting at Las Vegas Market for the first time. Designers, buyers, and media representatives in attendance are reporting on the impressive number of new trends and product introductions they are seeing at Market.
“We are very excited to have so many new and exciting companies showing with us this July Market and wanted to highlight a few who are making a big impact in their respective product categories,” said Dana Pretner, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for World Market Center.
World Market Center caught up with a handful of some of the new exhibitors, mostly present in temporaries at the Las Vegas Convention Center which opened to brisk traffic yesterday, as well as some big names in Building A and Pavilions.
12 bright stars who are making heads turn across all three venues are Master Design Furniture, Bush Industries, Canaco Tlaquepaque, G. Romano Inc., Halo, Moenia Design, Mon Lieu, Politorno Moveis Ltda, Pom Pom Maison, Reed & Barton, Strakx, and Talia.
Master Design A504 & P28500 Headquartered in California, Master Design is a leading manufacturer and marketer of wood dining room, occasional and bedroom furniture. Master Design Furniture was founded by Master Home Furniture of Taiwan in 1990 and was acquired by the Test Rite Group in March 2002. Breaking news at Las Vegas is that Master Design Furniture has teamed up with sister company Compass Home and started a line of home accessories, lamps, vases and beautiful luxury candles designed to complement its products – these are on display in A504. For the first time ever, the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Tlaquepaque will include products and materials such as wrought iron, blown glass, ceramics and clay pottery, tin works, seeds, leather, oil paintings, decorative vases and figurines, equipales, candles, leather handbags and lighting products. Particularly exciting is a series of ceramics and a resin sculpture by artist Mario Gonzalez which features the abstract figure of a woman.

Moenia Design S60704 (Design Gallery) Moenia Design from San Francisco, California which specializes in designing woven furnishings and decorative accessories for modern living, is launching its new Spa collection featuring colorful furniture and decorative accessories based on organic forms. Politorno Moveis Ltda S62415 The Brazilian Pavilion at Las Vegas Convention Center comprises 16 exhibitors debuting products as diverse as upholstery, steel storage systems, handicrafts, bedroom and dining room furniture. Politorno Moveis LTDA, based in Bento Goncalves, is showing bedroom products, computer desks and home entertainment furniture.

Strakx S70239 Founded in 2002 by the Dutch designer and architect Erwin “Eurp” Meier, this is Strakx’s first launch in the US. Operating from their Toronto office, the company is showing just a slice of what they do – simple, clean designs in quality materials. Products are all hand made and use materials like copper, leather and silver. Of particular note are some of the products made from Stingray leather – the most expensive leather in the world. Eurp Meijer comments: “I like to create products with pure lines, something very straightforward where the materials and quality speak for themselves. We exhibit in Barcelona, Paris and Frankfurt, but this is our first time in the US and we’re very excited to be here in Las Vegas.”

In all, the July 2006 Market is the largest Las Vegas Market yet with nearly 2.6 million square feet of permanent and temporary exhibits.
