International Dynamism at Las Vegas Market

(LAS VEGAS) – July 27, 2005 - International dynamism greeted visitors to the Las Vegas Market at World MarketPlaceSM at the Las Vegas Convention Center with yesterday’s opening of the International Pavilion and Interior LifestyleSM USA, located in the North Halls at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Interior LifestyleSM USA’s “show within a show” located in N2 Hall brings a high-end collection of eclectic decorative materials from a select group of European and American manufacturers.

Tim Branscome, Director of International Business Development for World Market Center said: “I am thrilled that we have a strong international presence. This is a unique opportunity to see European trends – these exhibits should not be missed.”

The International Pavilion brings together highlights from the renowned Heimtextil and Ambiente trade shows by Messe Frankfurt in Germany and includes three areas which give designers and retailers a taste of dynamic European design trends, Heimtextil Trend Pavilion, Design Plus and Talents.

Daniel McKinnon, Executive Director of Messe Frankfurt Inc. explains: “Talents is Messe Frankfurt’s forum for up-and-coming young designers and Interior Lifestyle USA has invited ten successful design talents for their premiere in the USA. Design Plus is an annual innovation prize awarded for products at Ambiente recognized for their outstanding design quality and the show features products by international designers Karim Rashid, Hella Jongerius and Paola Navone. Heimtextil Trend Pavilion provides the color samples and popular ornamentation of the coming season. The three offer the American buyer and designer a unique opportunity to see what’s up and coming in Europe.”

Nearby to this exhibit, visitors to the IMM Cologne booth are greeted by music and design concepts appealing to the senses – visual, sensory and auditory. The intention is to bring visitors a taste of what IMM Cologne will offer Las Vegas in the future.

Udo Traeger, Vice President Furniture, Interior Design & Textiles at Koelnmesse commented: “Our appearance at the inaugural Las Vegas Market is a first step towards continued and increasing cooperation between IMM Cologne and Las Vegas Market. We will be taking the time to introduce American and International buyers visiting this show to IMM Cologne. We believe there are great opportunities in the US market for our exhibitors at Cologne, so we will talk to as many buyers as possible this week and with 53,000 visitors registered here on the first day alone, we hope to gather a wide cross section of opinions and views.”

IMM Cologne exhibit is located in Hall N1 at the World MarketPlace, Las Vegas Convention Center.

Heimtextil is the largest textiles exhibition in the world, Ambiente is the largest gift and accessory show in the world and IMM Cologne is the largest European furniture exhibition.

Las Vegas Market runs through Friday, July 29.
