(LAS VEGAS) –Feb. 22, 2008– Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center will welcome national lifestyle designer Barclay Butera on Friday, March 7, 2008 for a candid talk about his approach to design and interiors.
Butera’s presentation, “Barclay Butera on Transitional Style,” will take place from 10 am to 11:30 a.m. during the monthly First Friday event. Butera’s lecture will take place on the 16th Floor of World Market Center’s Building B, 475 South Grand Central Parkway in Las Vegas.
Barclay Butera has been redefining luxury for 15 years, helping clients achieve inspired interiors through his “Better-Best” concept of living. Butera’s transitional style is grounded in European, American and Far East traditional influences and invigorated by his own contemporary twist. He has recently designed both Veranda’s and Esquire’s Fall design showhouses, and his own home was published in Traditional Home this Fall.
Emphasizing clean, classic tailored lines and the importance of intriguing textiles, Butera’s “fashion for the home” is a seamless blend of integrity, creativity and timelessness.
“Furnishings don’t make a home, life does. And life isn’t something that comes from a store,” Butera said. “Design is the way you present your lifestyle to the world. And that’s when the right furnishings make all the difference.”
Butera said he plans to discuss and share:
· The “Better-Best” concept defined and how he creates clients for life
· Creating “fashion for the home” using timelessness, classic tailored lines and a contemporary twist (Think Audrey Hepburn and the “little black dress.”)
· Using textures, symmetry and layering in transitional design
· Incorporating client collections and heritage pieces into the overall design
· Merging indoor/outdoor living
· Transitional style within Hollywood Regency, Sophisticated Mountain, and other design concepts
